NEW TECHNOLOGIES CCS technology

Geological storage of CO2

We are participating in unique projects in the Czech Republic which will significantly contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the future and which have the potential to help in meeting Green Deal commitments.

Vision to become a leader in CO2 storage

Building CO2 clusters

The CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) projects are unique in Europe. Their construction will open the way to other projects in inland areas.

OUR CHALLENGES

We want to become the European leader in CO2 storage

In cooperation with scientific institutions and industrial partners we are building the first commercial CCS facilities in Central Europe.

We are a partner of the CO2-SPICER Czech/Norwegian research project, the goal of which is to examine possibilities for geological storage of CO2 in Southern Moravia under the leadership of the Czech Geological Survey.

This unique project, preceded by 15 years of scientific research, will help in the fight against climate change and serve as a model example for further implementation in the Czech Republic and elsewhere in Europe in the future.

The total capacity of the storage structures is 10 million tonnes of CO2.

The project is currently at the preparation and approval stage

An application for support from the EU’s Innovation Fund has been submitted.
